Radiators

If you’ve taken the decision to buy a new boiler and upgrade your central heating system,it makes sense to replace any old radiators in the property at the same time,to minimise disruption and cost. Here are just a few reasons why replacing your radiators is a wise investment.
Why should you replace your old radiators?
EFFICIENCY

Modern radiators can be up to 50% more efficient than those made as early as 2000. These efficiency improvements mean that newer radiators use less water, in turn reducing your energy bills and saving you money.

LEAKS

A new boiler will no doubt be a lot more powerful and result in a pressure increase in the system, this can put older radiators under more pressure and ultimately lead to leaks occurring.

SLUDGE

Old radiators and metal pipes in your heating system can suffer from a build up of sludge over a longer period of time. This can cause a huge decrease inefficiency and eventually start to corrode the pipework and radiator. A power flush can be performed or a magnetic system filter can be fitted to the return pipes near the boiler to remove sludge but can often be a shorter-term fix.

MODERNISATION

As well as the increase in energy efficiency, modern radiators now come in a wide range of colours, sizes and styles, from standard and traditional to vertical, designer. If you’re looking to improve the style and aesthetics of a radiator space or add a new towel rail to your bathroom, then you are now spoilt for choice. Thermostatic Radiator Valves

We can also offer advice and recommendations regarding the introduction of new thermostatic radiator valves.

Commonly referred to as TRVs, Thermostatic radiator valves allow you to control the heat being produced by the radiator and therefore the temperature in each room they are fitted.

This can help you optimise your central heating performance, allowing the system to concentrate on the most used rooms in your home and save you money on your energy bills.

Heating System Pipework

Whether you’re looking to replace the whole pipe network in your home or property or just upgrading one part of the system, we can provide a quote to make your system more efficient.

Installing a new boiler and the subsequent increase in pressure can create new, as well as amplify any existing pinhole leaks in the pipework. In order to avoid this potential problem, it may be worth considering replacing the pipework whilst replacing the boiler and/or radiators.
